The Repaired Video Plays Smoothly With Some Players But Not With Others – why?

 Modified on: August 20, 2020 |    1194 views

A video file has data in packets. Each Video Player has its own technique of reading this data. Often these packets are not completely read by some players. Because of this your video file may play fine in some players while it is shaky, jerky or have other issues with other players.

Another reason could be unsupported codecs in the Video Player due to which the video is properly playable with only some video players that have right codecs for its file format.

So what you can do?

You can either convert the video to a different file format or download the compatible codec for your video format.

Convert video file to another format

Convert your video file format to another format that is supported by the Media Player you are using. For instance, you may convert MOV to AVI or vice versa. You can use any free video file converter tool available online.

Install video codecs on your computer

To resolve incompatible codec problem, download a video codec pack.

Video codec pack helps to fix issues occurring due to incompatible video and audio format in the Media Player. A codec pack can play most of the videos in a Media player.

K-Lite Codec Pack, Media Player Video Codec Packs, X Codec Pack etc., are some of the popular video codec packs.
